Harnham Bridge

Harnham Bridge

arnham Bridge, originally names Ayleswade Bridge, is one of three medieval stone bridges in Salisbury. Constructed about 1245 by Bishop Bingham, it was one of the passages over the River Avon in ancient times. The central foundation of Harnham Bridge is an island in the middle of the river. The northern part of the bridge has three arches and the southern has six. The bridge was widened in 1774.
